Events
The events section lets you add and remove events from your Credit Union Calendar, if you chose to have that functionality enabled. When you click on the events, you should see a page fairly similar to the other standard WordPress pages. The rows will show all of the events that you currently have setup, and the columns will show different information that applies to each individual event.
- Events: This column shows the name of the event.
- Categories: The name of the category that the event is currently assigned to.
- Analytics: Clicking on this icon will show you analytic information related to this specific event.
- Venue: this will show you what venue the event is assigned to.
- Start Date/Time: The date and time the event is taking place.
- End Date/Time: The date and time that the event ends.
- Recurrence: If the event is a recurring event, this will show how often it is set to occur.
Clicking on an event will open up details about the event. You can review the details in the event in the WYSIWYG editor, or you can play with the standard right hand features.
Underneath those items, you will find some more options that are unique to Events.
Event Details
Where you can edit content that is specific to this event.
- Start Date/Time: Where you can enter in the start date/time for the event.
- End Date/Time and “all day”: The text fields allow you to enter in the end date (if it’s a multi-day event), and the end time. If it is an all-day event (such as a Holiday), you can select the “All Day” checkbox and the time text-areas will grey themselves out
- Recurrence: If this event is a recurring event, you can setup options here to have it appear on all of the dates that it reoccurs.
- Include/Exclude Occurrences: If there are specific days that this event is or is not happening that fall on the recurrence, or fall outside of the recurrence, you can add or ignore specific dates here. If you select them, and the date is blue that means the event is scheduled for that day, and if you click it again the date will become grey with white text, signaling the event will be excluded from that day.
- Venue: The location where the event is happening. If you don’t see your venue in the drop down list, you can press the “+” next to it to add in a custom venue.
Underneath of the event details, you will see an area for a custom excerpt.
This is a custom area where you can add in your own introduction text to the event.
Under event details, you can add in custom fields.
Under the custom fields is a field where you can change the organizer, or creator, of this event.
