Question: When you are typing content on a page or post and hit enter – why is there an extra line feed?

Answer: WordPress is a rich text editor and it assumes that there is a new paragraph every time you hit enter (it uses new <p> tags).

Solution: Use shift + enter keys and you will get the normal line break that you are expecting.
